We had our 5th Session @ Stonehouse Music a few days ago. We finishished up the lead and backing vocal tracks and added a few more tracks of percussion. We are tying up the loose ends now and putting the icing on the cake at this point. On April 10th we will have a short, couple hour session of guest musicians including horns, fiddle and cello. We will finish the tracking on April 11th. We will be bringing some friends in to the studio for some "clap and stomp" percussion which should be a good time. We can not wait to hear this in completion after the mixing and mastering take place. We can't wait for everyone to hear it!!

We are getting ready for our next session at Stone House Recording on March 29th. Our focus is finishing up the lead vocal tracks and lay down the backing vocals. We have taken 2 weeks off from the studio to regroup and re-listen. Taking a week off from the music itself really helped gather our thoughts and hear the songs again for the first time. We have written out the backing vocals both in harmony parts and 2nd/3rd voices. Along with the vocals we have worked hard at placement of percussion/claps/stomps/honks and squeaks. This will be helped out on the recording by various guest musicians including Daphne Shears on the cello, Mike Reid on horns and Kate Mienel Kirchner on fiddle.
The end is in our sights and is really starting to come together. What we heard in our heads as we wrote the songs is coming to fruition in the studio and blossoming into more than we had expected. Artwork has been looked over hashed out and viewed over and over and over and over and......... Our friend Ed, who is doing the artwork, is an incredible artist and has been so very patient with us as we look over his proofs of the songs visual story. We have also started putting some dates together for our summer season including CD release and kickstarter parties. Spread the love Jon |
